OR 47 in Banks is now open!
Thank you for your patience as we worked to replace the West Fork Dairy Creek Bridge on OR 47 in Banks. The bridge has been replaced and the road opened to traffic today. We apologize for the delay. Because we didn't have the right weather conditions to install the permanent bridge surface, we installed temporary asphalt to get the road reopened. The permanent bridge surface will be a polymer concrete that requires specific weather conditions to install and for the material to set. Using polymer to bind the concrete makes it less likely to crack, more durable and resistant to conditions caused by changes in the weather. We need warm and dry weather to install this type of bridge surface. Now that it's fall, warm enough weather won't happen again until next year. We'll return next spring to remove the temporary asphalt bridge surface and replace it with the permanent concrete bridge surface. We will let you know when we have a date to finish the work on the bridge next year.
